Setting your printer to 5×7 or 4×6:

When you hit print, you should get a print window that pops up.  From there you’ll need to go into properties first and choose your paper size and maybe even your paper source if it’s being loaded from another tray.  Once you’ve done that you can hit the print button.  The makers should format to the new default paper size you have selected.

There are so many variables with different computers, operating systems, web browsers and printers. Print With My Pic doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to print 5×7 or 4×6, but the templates are set up that way.  I hope you are able to print the perfect invitation or card.  However, let me know if you are still having problems.  There is a contact button at the bottom of every page.

Easter cards for kids from MES Cards

 These are great single page photo Easter cards you can print online.  You can add a picture of a church group, Sunday School class photo, your family, the Easter basket kids made, the Easter eggs made with kids, or just pictures of the kids in their Easter best.  You can personalize all of the text to make these into invitations to Easter events or just make an Easter card for Mom or an Easter card for Dad.  Also, since the card makers print full to the page. just change your paper size and print 5×7 Easter cards, 4×6 Easter cards or just print onto index cards.

How to personalize and print your own Easter cards with these sites

Both of these sites use a similar online Easter card template format.  When you choose a style, the maker will open in a new window.  With the Print With My Pic templates, you can upload your own photo right from your computer or use the URL to a picture you have online.  From there, you can edit any of the sample Easter card sayings to make the perfect Easter greeting card.  You can move the text around on the page and some templates allow you to change the font.

To print the card, there is a large print icon at the top of the template on the left-hand side.  Once you’ve made all of you changes, you can click on the print button and make as many copies as you need.  The card templates should maintain all of your data, so if you’d like to personalize each card with different names, that’s very simple to do.

The Easter card templates from MES cards also allow you to make half fold Easter cards with any of the cards.  You can then print the cards, write in your own messages and add any Easter card crafts, like pop-up Easter eggs to make pop-up Easter cards.  Adding these small details really makes your card special and fun for the recipient. How to make your own class of 2012 graduation announcements with your photo:

Each of the templates has a spot for you to a graduation photo, photo of your school, a school mascot photo, or senior 2012 picture. Any image file will work. When you open the template, you’ll see an image upload tool.  You have the option of adding a picture right from your computer or you can use the URL to an image you have online.  Once the picture is loaded into the graduation photo frame, you can edit the photo with the image editor.  Crop your photo, zoom in, zoom out, rotate the image and get it just the way you’d like.

Graduation Announcement Wording - personalize your senior 2012 graduation announcement:

You can edit all of the text in the template, change the fonts and colors with some designs.  Just type over any sample graduation announcement text that you see on the cards.  Change “Congratulations!” to “Class of 2012″, “Somewhere High 2012″, “2012 Graduation Party”, “We made it!” or even “We’re outta a here!” :D

Print your own graduation announcements 2012:

After you’ve made all of your changes and personalized your announcement, you are ready to print.  There is a preview button you can use to clear all but the “print” button (and “back” button.)  That will let you look at the card without any of the menus and you can see how it will look before you print the card.  If you like it, then load your paper into your printer and hit the print button.

The makers will adjust the cards to your paper size.  If you want to make a 5×7 announcement, 4×6 announcement or even full page graduation announcement you can.  Just be sure to adjust your printer settings.  The program can do somethings but I’m still working on it.  It will print according to what you have set in the printer settings so, make sure the printer properties are set before you hit that final print button.

(Usually, you’ll get a print pop-up window that lets you choose the printer and also has a button for “printer settings” or maybe “printer properties.  That’s where you’ll find the options for selecting your paper size.)

Cute cards for kids to print:

There are many possible card templates but these above have cute characters for kids or you can try the teddy bear card templates.  Each card has the option for ready to print cards, like birthday cards to print, cute thank you cards, get well soon cards, and more.  However, each of the templates can be personalized to make invitations or cards for other purposes.  The cute card templates will let you add your friends name, add text to the card covers, edit the text or you can delete everything and just print cute blank cards for friends.

Cool cards for kids to print:

There are 8 cool cards for kids templates, now each have a new card maker and ready to print card template formats.  You can make cool birthday cards for kids, graduation cards, party invitations and more.  The new greeting card maker will let you change the sample birthday card wording and title greeting.  Personalize a cool card for friends by adding their name to the cover.  Add you name or sign the card after you print it. In addition to the cool character cards the tiger greeting card templates have also been updated with new card makers and ready to print greeting card templates.  These will make great birthday cards for boys or cards for anyone who is a big cat lover.

How to make cards for kids:

Choose the card you’ like: The new card makers haven’t been introduced through the entire site yet.  However, to make printable cards for kids, first, click on the template preview.  That will open the card maker in a new window.  Form there you will see options to edit the card title text. This is the main greeting that will appear inside the card.  The sample wording is “Happy Birthday!” but that can be changed to anything you’d like.

Edit the card online: Second, below the title text field, there is a place for a personalized message.  Again, the card has sample wording for a birthday card, but you can edit all of the text and even delete everything if you’d rather write in your own message after printing.

Third, click the “OK” button.  Then, you should see your card right there on the screen.  At the top, there are options for changing the font.  If you roll over the top of the text on the card, you’ll see a control bar that appears which will allow you to rotate the text, make it bigger or smaller, and drag the text around on the card to get the balance and layout that looks best.

(You can skip the second step all together and just make your changes directly on the card.  There is a “skip” button at the top right. If you would like to use the opening menu, you can click on the small menu button at the top of the card.  That will open the card menu for you.)

Printing the card: Now you are ready to print.  If you like the way the card looks, click the “print” button at the top left of the card.  Your card will come shooting out your printer.  You can make as many copies as you’d like or go back and make changes to the card to print a similar card for other friends and family.

Haunted house ideas for decorations – make your own spooky facade

This is a great way to transform a garage into a haunted house or make a room of your house into a haunted house walk through for your Halloween party guests. To make the walls for the outside of the haunted house, I used strips of gray fabric.  With a black magic marker, I drew horizontal lines across the fabric, added what would appear to be wood grain and technically you’re done.  I did add some broken board type artwork and peering eyes, but that’s up to you.

Haunted house idea for exterior decorations – add spooky trees and a cemetery fence

I made the cemetery fence posts and rot iron fence in about 3 hours.  The fence posts were made out of foam insulation boards and gray house paint that you can find at most DIY or home improvement stores.  The fence was made with black PVC pipes and black wire.

Taking the foam board, you can cut it into strips.  I layered the strips to make what looks like stone fence posts.  It’s much faster if you don’t have to “carve” or “etch anything.  So instead of carving a design into the foam, I carved some pieces to glue on.  You can see sample text for a cemetery fence in the final photo above.  All of the pieces were glued together with wood glue and then painted with gray water-based house paint.

To make the fence post props, you just need to cut up some PVC pipes for the size that you’d like.  My fence had two horizontal crossbars and five vertical fence posts.  I placed them on my floor in the design you see in the center picture.  Then, using black wire I tied the posts down in their positions.  You can adjust the positions after you have secured them.

Haunted house ideas – How to make a haunted house maze or walk-through

I spent a long time trying to figure out how to make a simple and kid-safe haunted house maze.  I wanted something sturdy, easy to assemble and something that didn’t create a lot of trash in the end.  So, you can see why it took me a while.

In the end, the answer was 2×4 pillars and 1×4 braces.  It seemed like it would be a ton of work but in the end, it was very quick, simple, sturdy and above all ours ended up “kid-safe”.  Well, they all survived to tell the tale, anyway.

We used 1x4s across the top and on the sides for stability.  I had one L section and a floating wall that you can see in the diagram above. I connected the two sections with a board across the top and so everything stood strong and supported itself.  Different from the design you see above, I added two “doorways” by using another pillar and top crossbar.  That increased the overall stability and gives you a place to hang things, like a curtain, spider webs and even just a secure fixture for black lights or Halloween lights.

To make the frame into walls, we used black farming plastic.  It’s super cheap, but you can use anything you can find.  Use an old plastic Halloween scene setter for example. The inside of your haunt should be dark and most likely no one is going to notice what the walls looked like.

This is just a suggestion and above all, think safety first.  Each environment is different and I have no idea how destructive your guests can be.  The maze can never be to secure or too sturdy.  Please use your best judgment, get advice from friends and you can certain run ideas by me by commenting below.

Another thing to think about is overall height.  In the end the cross bars were just over 6′.  If you are expect a basketball team, you might want to build it a little taller.  In general it’s good to have someone at the entrance reminding you victims, I mean guests, not to run, push, kick, fight, etc. until they are out of the haunted house, preferably not until they are down the street on someone else’s property :D.

How to make the Valentine’s Day cards for kids:

Once you click on the previews above, it will take you to the full set of previews.  This will let you choose from all of the Valentine’s Day card designs.  Next to each design, there are 2 links.  One says “make up to 4 cards”. This option will allow you to make 4 different cards, with different text message for each card. You can use different card backgrounds or use the same card design with different messages for each. You can add the names of your Valentine or leave it blank and address the cards after printing.  The second link states “make 4 of the same card”.  This will take you to a Valentine’s Day card maker that will generate 4 of the same cards with the same text.  You can personalize all of the text or just use the sample Valentine’s Day card message for each template.

At the bottom of the screen, you need to choose the card design, “card 1″ for example.  Then there is a button that says “make it”.  Click that and you’ll see you cards on the screen.  if you’d like to make any changes, just hit the back button on your browser.  That will take you back to the Valentine’s Day card maker screen from before.  Edit any text and then hit the “make it” button again.  You’ll see the new changes.

How to print your own Valentine’s Day cards:

You print these cards just like you would print a page off of the Internet.  Go to the top of your web browser and from the file menu or tools menu, choose “print preview”.  You could just select print, but this will let you see everything first.  If it all looks good, click print and make as many copies as you need.  You can play with the margins if you want to center the cards or you may need to decrease the margins if part of the cards are going to get cut off or the text isn’t appearing.
