There are new certificate templates for Word that you can download and edit from 123Certificates.com.  You can download a .doc certificate template in landscape or portrait and then edit the text, text layout, font, add pictures, and more.  The certificates have free formal certificate borders to print in red, blue, gray, and gold.

You can add photos directly into the certificates using Microsoft Word or any other compatible program.  Save the file to your computer and print a certificate at home.  If you want to make an employee of the month certificate, sports certificate or certificate for academic achievement, just edit the certificate title, add a company logo, team logo, school mascot, or no photo, and print.

Making a great looking certificate might mean you need a few more fonts.  There are plenty of great free certificate fonts to download on the Net.  Most people are looking for the old English calligraphy font style for the title.  Take a look at some of these medieval font styles for certificates of appreciation, merit, honor, etc.  Use those free fonts for certificates on the title of the certificate and for the recipients name.  In other places use something like Georgia or Century fonts to break up the pattern and make the certificate  look great!
