Problems with uploading photos?
The easy upload tool with each template will let you add your photo to the printable card makers, calendar makers, etc. You can add your photo right from your computer. Everything is done online and you don’t need to download any programs.
I made the site this way so that you don’t have to worry about viruses or malware that some sites bundle with their “free” programs. As someone who doesn’t like to download these little programs, that’s the road I went.
File uploads, but then says “no file loaded” when you try to add it:
Most likely, your picture is too large. The templates will accept any file size, but the easy uploader will only take files smaller than 2.0mb. If you have a camera with over 10 mega pixels, your images will probably be over 2.0mb and will get canceled in the final stage of the upload process.
What you can do is load the image to an online photo album, like Facebook or PhotoBucket. Then right click on the photo to get the URL to the image. In the photo card template, for example, paste the URL in the “paste URL” spot and click “add photo”
If you don’t have an online photo account, you can resize your photo very easily. Make a new copy of the image, because we don’t want to make changes to the original. Select the image and in the file menu, choose Edit -> copy. Then, go back into the file menu and choose Edit -> paste. Rename the new file to “print1” for example.
Next, right click on the new picture and you should see options at the top to “edit” the photo. There may be several options if you have installed the software that came with your camera. Choose any of the options for editing and within that program you’ll be able to reduce the file size. If you change the picture down to 2,000px wide, the file will be much lighter and still very, very big/clear for printing on cards, calendars, invitations, etc. even if you want to zoom in on a particular spot.
Resizing the photo will take a little bit of time, but might actually save you time, because the smaller photos will upload and add to the templates much faster.
Why can’t I upload files bigger than 2.0mb?
Most easy upload tools use a programing platform called php, including this site. It’s a very effective coding system but unfortunately has a default limit of 2.0mb for uploads. While there are ways around the default limit, sites may choose not to change the limits or they might not be able to with their website hosting service.
At Print With My Pic, I’m trying to increase the limit, but have been thwarted by my hosting service and trying to code the changes. If possible I will increase the limit to 5.0mb in the future. A 5.0mb will print about the size of a large area rug by the way. There really is no need for images over 3.0mb, unless you are printing 8 foot by 10 foot wall murals :) .
What kind of files will work?
The programs will only accept .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, and .bmp files. Any other file will be rejected.
If you have other problems, please let me know. I’ll be happy to help get the situation resolved.
Happy printing,
Mark

I am making a monthly calendar using your calendar template 1.
I have successfully uploaded and added 9 of my own photos. However, 3 photos, although shown as being uploaded, will not add to the appropriate space in the calendar. All photos are jpg and all under 2.0 mg. I’m wondering why this would be.
Thanks for any advice you can give.

Do you still see the “your photo here” wording when you add them? Sometimes the pictures are large and just need to be sized down with the minus button to better see them in the window.
Sometimes there are just some server connection and data storage issues that I don’t really understand myself. Occasionally a picture won’t load fully for example. I’m working on trying to figure out why that happens but I don’t have a solution right now.
If you have an error in the future, my best advice is to close the browser and try again. I know it is time consuming and annoying but for now that’s the best solution I have. I will continue to work on it though.
